We bring you the world’s most ornate orange juice machine that looks like a massive mechanical citrus tree. This one happens to deliver more than sweet Vitamin C and just so happens to make its own beverage cups from the used peels. The huge wire canopy/rack sends the 1,500 oranges who reloads this thing, anyway?) for juicing and uses the peels in a collector where they go through a process that turns them into bioplastic, recyclable cups via a 3D printer. The unique machine was designed by Carlo Ratti Associati (CRA), and they plan to move forward using some of the same techniques to create clothing from the peels. It’s a brilliant idea that provides fresh juice, minimizes waste, and embodies real creativity and environmental consciousness.
