The latest Duty Free release is this Ballantine’s 21 Year Old Signature Oak Edition that pays tribute to the cask maturation pioneer George Ballantine, who founded the company. The European oak that the single malt whiskies are aged in prior to blending is said to enhance the flavor notes and the personality of the whisky. Ballantine’s even hooked up with Korean woodworking artist Lee Sam Woong to produce a sculpture that pays homage to the wood that makes whisky great.
