Since many of us are still home, we decided to do some digging to find useful products to help stay productive, occupied, entertained and fit while you’re At Home.
At this point in the quarantine / stay-at-home, we thought we’d tackled just about everything there was to learn because we upgraded glassware, sharpened knives, made mocktails and fixed just about everything around the house. And then, a piece of of our favorite pottery was shattered into a handful of pieces. It could have been thrown out, sure, but we chose to repair it with ancient Japanese techniques and the DIY Kintsugi Kit you see here. Kintsugi basically boils down to this–take your old, busted pieces and make them new again by repairing them with a combination of epoxy and gold powder. This process not only repairs each of your pieces, it makes them prettier and more revered than they were before–especially if you clear coat them and make them food safe. The process takes a little experimentation to perfect, but even your first few attempts will result in great pieces you would have otherwise discarded. More importantly, it’s a fun activity the entire family can enjoy.
