We’re all for the latest, greatest, high-tech, revolutionary, jaw-droppingly beautiful video game to come out of Activision, Ubisoft, Blizzard or Square Enix, but there’s something to be said for revisiting the classics that bear the iconic Atari logo. From Asteroids and Space Invaders, to Centipede and Missile Command, Atari titles are classics for a reason, and one of those reasons is the art. The Art of Atari is a 350+ page tome co-written by Robert V. Conte and Tim Lapetino that details over 40 years of Atari illustrations used in packaging, advertisements, catalogs and more that were painstakingly sourced from private collectors to create this first of its kind collection.
