We spend so much time pondering the future that we lose sight of the all the incredible things happening right now. Take electric cars, for example. So many of us consider these the work of some sci-fi author, futuristic rides we’ll have when we consume meals in tablet form like the Jetsons. But Mercedes-Benz electric cars aren’t prototypes. They’re not an attempt to market technology that isn’t ready for the roads. Just look at EQ, a new product brand from Mercedes, which stands for “Electric Intelligence” and is all about customer-focused electric mobility. You’ll find a whole electric mobility ecosystem, from the electric vehicles themselves to wallboxes and charging stations. They are all part of the now, just like everything in this film. Created in partnership with artist Darren Johnston, what you’re seeing was the world’s first live TV commercial, which was meant to showcase all the wondrous things happening at a given moment. Thanks to a collection of cameras and data feeds, the film continuously changes over the course of 12 hours.
