London-based Italian artist Leonardo Ulian has made a career out of combining seemingly disparate objects from different realms to create unique sculptural that feel familiar while still being completely fresh. He recently took to his Instagram to continue his “Contrived Objects” series. The most recent additions to the collection include vintage wooden tennis rackets that have had their strings removed and replaced with individually soldered, vintage electronic pieces–think resistors, wires, circuit boards and other pieces of functional ephemera–that comes together to create exceptional final products. Just as importantly, by combining the built circular features with the egg-shape of the racket, each of the final pieces looks like a face re-imagined through the lens of Science Fiction art. Each one of the final works in the collection has a particularly amusing description, so we’d recommend you check them all out at the link below.
