2016 Skypixel Photo Contest Winners

2016 Skypixel Photo Contest Winners

DJI, the company that makes some of the best drones out there, partnered with SkyPixel for an incredible photo contest near the end of 2016 that focused on aerial photography. These are the winning photos, which were all either taken with DJI drones or feature the drones in action. Artists and photographers from more than 130 countries around the world submitted over 27,000 images for judging across a number of different professional and enthusiast categories, ranging from “Beauty” to “Drones in Use.” With iconic photographers and editors from places like TIME.com, Condé Nast Traveler, Hasselblad and Sony serving as judges, all of the images that won awards are fantastic. But the Grand Prize winner for 2016 SkyPixel Photo of the Year—Ge Zheng’s “Fishermen Close the Net”—is an image in a world all its own that, quite frankly, has to be seen to be believed.
