DROP Structures Mono Cabin Can Be Placed Almost Anywhere Without a Permit

Started out of a need for space to live, work and pursue hopes, dreams and passions, DROP Structures makes sleek prefabricated cabins that can be placed just about anywhere. The team behind DROP—as in, Detached Relocatable Outdoor Properties—spent years engineering and designing a deceptively simple space that would optimize living area to create the Mono you see here. Each building is 9′ wide, 12′ high and 16′ across to keep it below the threshold of needing permits in most of North America. Whether you’re using it for work, play or a weekend getaway, the Mono combines contrasting materials like wood, glass, steel and leather to create a simple and gorgeous multi-use space. Prices for the Mono start at $21,450 for the base model with options available for full glass front and/or rear walls, lofts, custom cabinets, blinds, air conditioning and most of the other features you’d expect to find in a full size home.
