The aviator kit bag was originally designed to be used by paratroopers as a place to stuff their parachute after a successful landing. With it’s wide opening and shorter design, it grew to become way more popular than the traditional duffel bag because it was easier to carry and access the gear inside. London-based the Real McCoy’s has taken that idea, classed it up and sized it down a bit for daily use. It’s made of 100% cotton canvas in a tan color with white accents and carry handles. Talon zippers with contrasting leather pull tabs, an aviators kit bag stamp complete with “Property U.S. Government” and a large internal pocket complete the look. It has that kind of retrolook meets fresh, modern construction, which makes it preferable to the actual vintage aviator kit bags you’ll find at the local Army Surplus because those options all seem to have smells that you’ll never get out.
