Under Armour is a name you’ve definitely heard before, but the “performance apparel” manufacturer has a whole new product that combines a lot of different features from some of our favorite projects. There are people that would tell you the coolest feature of this new shoe, the Fat Tire GTX, is the Wild Gripper outsole designed in collaboration with Michelin, inspired by mountain bike tire treads and built with their tire rubber. There are other people that would tell you the all weather, waterproof Gore-Tex upper/membrane is the coolest feature. Those are both excellent and useful features, but our favorite part of these shoes/boots from Under Armour is the BOA closure system. If you’ve never had the pleasure of using BOA closure on a pair of snowboard or ski boots, it basically replaces the traditional lace system with high tensile wire and a click lock system. With these Fat Tire GTX Shoes you’ll be able to traverse field, stream and mountain–without ever having to tie your shoes.
