Standard & Strange x Blluemade Linen Garden Suit

Standard & Strange x Blluemade Linen Garden Suit

The future of fashion is function. Here at Cool Material, we’re tired of the “wear it once” mentality. And we found kindred spirits in Standard & Strange, a clothing store whose motto is “own fewer, better things.” We’re more than happy to spend a few extra dollars on a piece of clothing that a) has been crafted with care using ethical, sustainable methods and b) will last a long time and is suited to a variety of use cases. Well, Standard & Strange just recently announced a stylish and extremely practical chore coat and trouser collaboration with linen brand Blluemade.

The full linen garden suit was inspired by the pre-industrial Belgian laborers who would most certainly sport linen in the fields. In fact, these jackets and pants are extremely durable and the linen is naturally moisture-wicking. The full suit was made in New York City’s Garment District using 100% Belgian linen from a carbon-neutral Belgian Mill that holds the Masters of Linen certification. (Yes, Masters of Linen is a real and rad thing.) The trousers and jacket sport a clean, relaxed straight fit that feel roomy without billowing in the wind. The suits are available in sizes ranging from extra small to extra large and in undyed flax and overdyed indigo. The result is a full fit that looks unbelievably stylish for backyard hangs or while tending to your community garden.

The jacket and pants are sold separately for $450 each. Standard & Strange is accepting pre-orders until May 23rd with expected shipping between July and August.
