After a successful Kickstarter campaign that turned recycled Mustangs into watches, REC is making automatic watches with salvaged Porsche 911 parts. The 911 is one of the most iconic and beloved cars ever created, so creating a watch with salvaged parts (no 911s were hurt in the creation of this collection) is almost a no-brainer. But REC Watches took that idea even further with the 901 collection. Named for the original moniker from the 1964 Paris Auto Salon, the three watch collection uses automatic Miyota movements and salvaged Porsche parts for the face/dial to create a truly unique timepiece with 911 inspiration throughout. The face is inspired by the classic dash. The power reserve resembles the fuel and oil gauge. The caseback is inspired by classic Otto Fuchs rims and includes a drilled rotor. Each watch also has soft corners, accents inspired by the rear air grill, a crown that mirrors early steering wheels and strap options inspired by vintage interiors. If you love 911s, this is the only watch for you.
