Tretorn Nylites. Vans Authentics. Chucks. Air Force Ones. We could write a list a mile long of all the different pairs of sneakers we’d like to wear on a regular basis. Your list is probably similar to ours and therein lies the problem. Lots of men have lists that are very similar because there are only so many different pairs of excellent kicks to choose from. Matteo Marziali wants to add a few (read: nine) pairs to your short list. The Wash collection from Marziali’s Playhat is filled with high tops and low tops, all designed and manufactured with vintage appeal and muted colors. It’s like someone made us a perfect pair of sneakers in the future, let us wear them for a few years and then sent them back in time to right now. Leave it to an Italian to turn a muted color palette, canvas, linen and straw into sneakers that everyone will want. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on when you’ll actually be able to buy them.
