Chrome’s goal was simple: To create the best city sneaker in the world. To do so they needed to do some work. First, they acquired 70-year-old machines from Slovakia that could fuse the rubber soles to the canvas uppers. The Forged Rubber Sneakers use rubber harvested from nearby rubber farms that gets heated to 300 degrees Fahrenheit to create a bond between sole and upper that is durable and able to survive the rigors of the city. Each pair pair is made by hand and takes around 15 minutes to create. Inside you’ll find an antimicrobial sock liner so you can wear them sockless without funking them up. A little bit of time and effort, but the result is the best city sneaker you can get your hands on.
