Elon Musk’s visions are always of the grand variety. While this leaves many questioning whether or not he can pull these ideas off, we like to just sit back and enjoy the fun-as-hell drip of information. That’s because we get things like what was posted yesterday on Musk’s Instagram. This is your first look at the SpaceX spacesuit—and it’s perfect. Eschewing bulkiness in favor of a trim and tailored look, the body of the spacesuit looks at least somewhat related to standard clothing. Decked out in black and white, it wouldn’t look out of place on someone riding a ninja bike. It’s finished with a helmet that blends stylistic notes from Interstellar with a Daft Punk concert. Musk claims the suit was tested to double vacuum pressure, so this is more than just the mock-up from some design student. No idea when SpaceX will send someone clad in one of these into space, but we’ll enjoy the build up until they do.
