Last year, we met Ger Buckley, a 5th generation master cooper at Jameson, and were dazzled by his knowledge of all things whiskey barrels. So if there was a guy who would know the right casks to age some stout in, we’d peg him. Ger’onimo is a collaboration between Beavertown Brewery and Jameson and is named after the latter’s master cooper. The stout was aged in barrels that were used for 18-year-old whiskey giving it a sweet booziness. Logan Plant, son of Robert Plant, founded Beavertown Brewery and met some folks from Jameson at his bar last year which got the whole project going. The 9% ABV stout will be tricky to get your hands on since only 3,000 bottles have been produces.
