Classifying the brand spanking new Lego Architecture Studio is difficult. On one hand, a kid will inevitably steal it from his father, rebuild it into something far more epic than what Dad created and find out his dream is to become an architect. Eventually he’ll have a sitcom on tv and become friends with Bob Sagat. That, along with the 272 page booklet of tips, techniques and exercises from established designers, makes it an educational tool. On the other hand, we grew up making multi-colored guns, castles and spaceships with Legos. That kind of makes it a toy. Honestly, we don’t really care what it’s classified as because over one thousand white and transparent bricks that we can use to put an addition on the Guggenheim sitting next to us on the desk right now is awesome however you look at it.
