Some part of the clothing purchasing experience always sucks. You buy online because it’s convenient, cheaper and/or you’re bored at work. But if you don’t already know your size in fifteen different brands–assuming the fit hasn’t changed at all–you’re going to end up eating the return postage if it doesn’t fit. The other option is brick and mortar, but that means higher prices and a smaller selection. According to RPMWEST, buying jeans shouldn’t be that difficult. Their newly launched Kickstarter includes two different pairs of jeans with wearable cuts made in San Francisco of Japanese selvedge denim for $95. If they hit their stretch goal they’ll launch their home try-on program. They ship you jeans in three sizes of your choosing; you ship back the two you don’t like for free. No system is perfect, but Made in the US, Japanese selvedge jeans for $95 is pretty damn close.
