We have one rule when it comes to roller coasters: Don’t go double on the funnel cake before getting on. Other than that, we’re all in. Whether it’s the latest and greatest that achieves insanely high speeds while you hang upside down or it’s an old rickety number that happens to be far more terrifying, we want on. If we had a spare $700 we’d use it to display our appreciation of the classic coaster with this 1:48 scale working model. Inspired by the rides of the 20’s, The Classic Wooden Roller Coaster is crafted from 464 pieces of laser-cut birch and illuminated by flashing LEDs. What will excite the toy-loving child inside each of us, is the fact that the train goes up and down hills and around turns indefinitely under its own momentum. Besides, after all the snacks and games, a trip to the amusement park probably costs about the same.
