“Special Editions” of movies that are already out on DVD are rarely worth the purchase if you already own the regular copy. There are however a few exceptions where we will add the new Special Edition version to our Amazon cart the day it is released. They could change the cover art to The Big Lebowski and do nothing else and we’d still mark its release date on our calendar. This however is far, far better. Besides the digital copy of the movie you get a collectible book full of Dude-goodness and a bunch of “U-Control” features (an on-screen counter that tracks the F-Bombs, the ability to create a custom Big Lebowski playlist, and seriously tons more). Hey, when there’s a whole shop dedicated to the movie (“Little Lebowski” in NYC) this sort of over-the-top watching experience is well justified.
