It’s doubtful that author and former mobster, Louis Ferrante, will be embarking on a national book signing tour following the publication of Mob Rules, at least we’re guessing, since according to the movies we’ve seen, spilling stories about your time in the mafia can leave you in eternal slumber with the fishes. So, even if you don’t run out to get an autograph, this book could knock off some other business books on your shelf. There’s a surprising wealth of knowledge the legit businessman can obtain from the mob and Ferrante lays it all out like a straight flush. Common lessons like respecting the chain of command and not mouthing off about your boss translate to any workplace. There are 88 lessons contained in Mob Rules, all of which can help you be a successful businessman, even obvious ones like “leave the gun, bring the cannolis” (this is not wise advice for cops however, cannolis make poor firearms).
