When we first caught a glimpse of the new VW Beetle the first thing we thought was, “Man, it’s going to be a lot tougher to know when to punch our older brother in the arm.” We’ll be honest, the Beetle was never the manliest car in the world. It wasn’t exactly on the cusp of Mustang & Camaro country but it appears with the 21st Century Beetle Black Turbo Launch Edition, Volkswagen is trying to change things. With the new looks, a 200-hp turbocharged engine and equipped sport suspension, we are kinda digging this version of the car that used to run on flowers. You can reserve one now for under $500 if you are so moved by the new look and happen to be a VW fan (of which there are many). While we aren’t going to sit here and put a manly crown on it just yet (a manly crown by the way is a regular crown with beer can holsters on the sides) we like where VW’s head is at.
