When Sony announced earlier this year that they would be stopping production on the Walkman, it was kind of like hearing that Abe Vigoda was going to be in a new movie – you didn’t even realize they were even still around. Unlike the still kicking Abe, the death of the Walkman put the proverbial nail in the coffin on the classic cassette tape. To relive the fun of 80’s mixtapes, light up your room with a Tape Lamp from Transparent House. Each of these table lamps is hand-constructed out of translucent micro-cassette tapes and will be a daily reminder of all the time you spent picking out the perfect songs to impress girls with back in the day. Only 2-3 lamps are produced each month, and since it was at one point featured in the New York Times Magazine, it may be wise to get on-board soon.
