New electric car brand Polestar (a Volvo spinoff) recently partnered with Swedish electric vehicle company, Candela, to create an electric hydrofoil boat that emulates some of the same modern minimalist styling cues as Polestar’s wheeled EVs. It’s based on Candela’s C-8 but in a limited-edition version known as the C-8 Polestar Edition, clad in a subtle grey hue inside and out, including marine grade upholstery. There are fancy gold highlights located in the hydrofoil and, interestingly, the seat tags. Power comes from the Polestar 2’s 69 kWh battery that provides a very quiet 57 nautical miles of range and a 22-knot cruising speed on a full charge.
