Oris recently unveiled its 2023 collection at this year’s Watches & Wonders in Geneva, Switzerland. The crown jewel in the set is not exactly subtle because it’s an homage to Kermit the Frog. Yep. The base watch is the new ProPilot X, and the dial is clad in Kermit green, but there’s no Muppet lettering, no ping-pong eyeball markers, and nothing resembling Kermit’s green felt skin. There is, however, Kermit’s smiling face that shows up in the date window for the first day of each month. The watch is a nod to the classic Muppet character, and the watch’s existence points to a trend towards a more playful and laid back approach to horology.
