When it comes to iconic pocket knives, few brands have the pedigree that Opinel built over the past century. The Opinel No. 8 Knife is one of our favorite Opinel pocket knife numbers because of its balance, size, and overall usability. The brand is following up on their limited 130th Anniversary Edition No. 8 with an artist series that includes these No. 8 Escapades designed by Jérémy Groshens -Les Aiguilles de Dje. The 29-year-old French tattoo artist travels the road working out of a 1972 Digue camper-turned-mobile workshop and tattoo parlor called the Outdoor Tattoo Truck which is where he developed the Elevation, Bivouac, and Azimut blades you see here. Each one of the pieces pays homage to time spent delighting in the beauty of nature as experienced through Jérémy’s illustrations. Elevation is inspired by Japanese prints. Bivouac is a tattoo flash sheet style collection of patchwork illustrations of gear mixed with flora and fauna. Azimut is all about the contour lines of mountain cartography and includes a black blade.
