Since many of us are still home, we decided to do some digging to find useful products to help stay productive, occupied, entertained and fit while you’re At Home.
In addition to having a bunch of extra time to cross things off the hobby / to-do list, learn new skills and work out, the current state of affairs has also afforded us the ability to catch up on films we’ve been putting off for ages. After checking off everything from the Great Documentaries that Sound Boring AF list, we dove into California Typewriter, the documentary about typewriters and the people that still use them to this day. Don’t get us wrong, there are plenty of hipster zealots that want to use typewriters just because they seem to be latest trend in “old school cool,” but there are plenty of evangelists like Tom Hanks, John Mayer and the people behind California Typewriter that make us want to revisit the idea of hard copy communication in a world that’s ephemeral and perpetually glued to phone screens. Because of that, we decided to pick up a new Royal Classic Manual Typewriter like the one you see here in an effort to create more tangible messages and pull ourselves away from the screens that dominate our lives.
