Custom motorcycle builds wouldn’t be the same without Arlen Ness, a true legend with a career spanning 40+ years. An AMA Hall of Fame inductee, a Quail Moto Gathering “Legend Of The Sport”, and a recipient of the “Lifetime Achievement” Award at Sturgis, he will forever be a two-wheeled icon. He died a little over a year ago and left a huge void in the field, but his legacy lives on in those whom he inspired. His 1963 Harley-Davidson Duo-Glide with a unique sidecar for cargo transport is now up for auction, and it’s a special bike not just because of who modded and owned it but also because the sidecar can be removed so the bike can be ridden on its own. The white-walled beauty has a stunning black/white/silver/red colorway, and the big fenders, front fork, and handlebars give it presence even without the chunky sidecar. The final price is expected to be around $30,000.
