Like many of you reading this, Parasite is one of our favorite films from recent memory and probably the last one we saw in a theater. As we saw in Parasite: A Graphic Novel in Storyboards, there was a lot more work that went into the award-winning film than we imagined from the deceptively simple set. For their latest video, Great Big Story linked up with Production Designer Ha-Jun Lee to get all the details about how the mansion in the film came to life. According to Lee, his translation of the visuals from the script to real life took inspiration from the LEGOs his son plays with and the tofu his wife makes as he built the world that Bong Joon Ho created on paper. This involved four different sets for the Park Mansion that were digitally stitched together to create the house as we imagine it.
