South Korean “black comedy thriller film” Parasite premiered at the Cannes Film Festival near the end of May in 2019. Almost a year later, the Palme d’Or winner, Academy Awards sweeper (4 awards including best picture, director and screenplay!) and Golden Globe Award winner is back–not just in digital or streaming release, but in book form. Acclaimed director and mastermind Bong Joon Ho personally drew up storyboards for each and every shot of the award-winning film prior to their shooting. Those storyboards have been combined and bound into Parasite: A Graphic Novel in Storyboards, an illustrated, 300+ page hardcover tome that explores the entire story from start to finish. Bong’s creative process that includes illustrating every shot before shooting might seem esoteric and outdated, but it worked incredibly well for the film and even better for the storyboard book. Parasite: A Graphic Novel in Storyboards–the translated English version–will be released on May 19th. Pre-order your copy at the link below.
