The extent to which we use cardboard on a regular basis is generally limited to carrying recycling to the dumpster or creating templates for other projects. This is not the cae for artist Greg Olijnyk who uses it as the primary building material for his incredible sculptures. We’re not just talking about structural bases to build on top of, either. Olijnyk creates remarkably detailed robots, scooters, assembly lines, telescopes, boats and surreal displays using cardboard, glue and toothpicks. Each one of his myriad creations is impressive from both a technical build standpoint and the sheer sense of whimsy you get just looking at them. What’s more, some of his works even include functional lights, clocks and gauges for a final bit of flair.
