Matthew McConaughey being named Wild Turkey Creative Director was certainly alright, alright, alright on a number of levels, but we would be the first to admit we weren’t quite sure exactly how that was going to pan out of the actor and the whiskey brand. As part of their “With Thanks” initiative, Wild Turkey recently built and launched an eco-cabin in Australia that was design directed by McConaughey in collaboration with Unyoked, a brand renowned for their tiny-house cabins and unwavering conviction to make the Australian wilderness accessible. What does that mean in reality? A small, Wild Turkey branded cabin complete with plenty of exposed wood, sliding barn door, solar panels, floor-to-ceiling windows, plenty of creature comforts and hidden, folding compartments that open to reveal a full set of bar utensils and mixers including a bottle of Wild Turkey Long Branch. In addition to all of that, the brand says “Proceeds from stays in the cabin and from sales of Wild Turkey Longbranch will be donated to Unyoked’s charity partner, Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife. This will be the first step in a number of planned initiatives from Wild Turkey that will go towards conserving and protecting the environment.” We’d stay there in a heartbeat.
