We’re all for modern technology, everything being connected to the Internet and remotely manageable, and modern digital assistants that are always at our beck and call, but we’re drawing the line at Boston Dynamics Spot robot. After being unveiled a couple years ago, the creepy AF robot dog Spot that opens doors, carries payloads, climbs stairs and can even get up if it falls is finally available for commercial use. It has a top speed of 3 mph. It has a 90 minute runtime for each swappable battery. It can carry up to 14kg and has 2 different payload ports for devices like the arm that can open doors. It’s also capable of operating in extreme temperatures and is IP54 rated for protection from dust and rain. Oh yeah, and it also has a 360-degree camera that enables it to avoid obstacles. No word yet on the cost, but the price tag can’t be anywhere near as terrifying as a future that’s going to be run by robot dogs overlords.
