These days there are more electric bike manufacturers than we can keep track of. What was originally just an assisted mode of transportation–maybe even a potential trend–has cemented itself as a complete joy-riding movement. The new Vintage Electric Roadster Electric Bicycle is one of the best examples of this. For starters, it’s a looker with it’s vintage cruiser bike meets velodrome racer style. That retro styling is paired with modern tech in the form of an 1123 watt-hour battery and a powerful-yet-quiet rear hub motor. We’re not talking about hitting around 20 mph on your 10 mile or less commute. We’re talking about five different power modes that allow you to hit a maximum of 36mph when you’re in Race Mode. (For the record, they do specify that this speed in Race Mode is for “private property only,” but unless it’s somehow geo-fenced, we don’t see anyone really abiding by that.) Range is between 40 and 75 miles depending on your power level of choice, but the numbers are bolstered during operation with regenerative hydraulic disk brakes. We want one.
