Dorothy’s Latest Poster Is All About the Vox AC30 Amplifier

In response to the growing demand for louder amplifiers in the late 50s, Vox released the Vox AC30 guitar amplifier. With what’s described as a “jangly high-end sound,” the Vox AC30 would quickly become hugely popular with British Invasion rock n’ roll artists like The Beatles, The Kinks and The Stones. With its unique sound and popularity, the amp itself would became a focal point and participant in some of the great moments in rock n’ roll history. If there was any studio capable of tackling all the history that surrounds the Vox AC30 it’s UK-based studio Dorothy. Dorothy adds to their growing collection of musical prints like Postage Stamp Electronic Albums and the U.S.A. Song Map with a cutaway print of the Vox AC30 that’s filled with illustrations of 40 different famous scenes involving the amp. The Beatles’ gig on top of the Apple building. The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park. Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison. Jimi Hendrix at Monterey International Pop Music Festival. Sex Pistols at Lesser Free Trade Hall. There’s even a handy legend on the right-hand side in case you can’t figure them all out yourself.
