The Russian ‘GangRena’ Bike Is Powered by a Lexus V8 Engine

Throwing a car engine onto a motorcycle frame is something tinkerers, speed demons and self-professed lunatics (you really need to have all of these qualities) have been doing for longer than most of you reading this have been alive. In fact, the fastest motorcycle in the world from 1973, E.J. Potter’s “Widowmaker” Dragbike, was powered by a Chevy V8. With a fit and finish that can only really be described as “Russian apocalypse bike,” GangRena is nothing like that except for the number of cylinders it has. Built by Russian madman Artem Boldyrev, out of Yekaterinburg, Russia, GangRena is powered by a 300HP Lexus V8 and matching transmission from a donor car. Add to that a custom tank, seat, two-chain torque system, frame, suspension, hell, who are we kidding? He built a rat bike out of a Lexus engine and transmission, damn near everything on this bike is custom, and we love every bit of it. Despite it being street legal and there being a video of it running and driving–and even with the badass Fallout-inspired safety helmet–we’re not sure we’d be brave enough to take this monster down the road.
