When we say the new 2019 McLaren Speedtail is a rocket on wheels, we don’t just mean that it goes crazy fast, though it does that in spades. We say it because you feel like you’re piloting a space-bound vessel when you sit in the cabin, as the only seat is placed in the center so the digital dash can go from left to right in front of you. Then there’s the silhouette of the vehicle, which screams speed to the point where you aren’t sure whether or not the wheels will remove themselves from the pavement to send you into the stratosphere. The front wheels are even equipped with wheel fans, which is the kind of cooling mechanism we expect to find on the latest and greatest from NASA. Oh, and it costs about as much as a spacecraft. Okay, not exactly, but the $2.27 million price tag is definitely closer to the billion a spaceship costs than the sticker on most other cars.
