Believe it or not, Swedish furniture powerhouse IKEA was founded in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad at his uncle’s kitchen table. Rather than celebrating their 75th Anniversary with balloons, cake or discounts, they headed into the archives to select a collection of pieces from over the years to reproduce for a modern audience. The Gratulera vintage collection is divided into three separate releases that each cover a period from the brand’s past. The 50-60’s edition set for release in August includes hits like a scoop rattan chair, three-legged side table and a rad floor lamp. In October, you’ll be able to venture back a few decades with the 70-80’s edition that includes with a wire armchair, DEVO-esque pendant lamp and glass-door cabinet. Finally, in December, the 90-00’s edition comes out with a minimalist armchair and storage bench. Each of the pieces in the collection will be limited, so act fast once the products are available.
