Samsung has released quite a few interesting projects over the years, and this year at CES they’re going to be revealing a few more. C-Lab (the Samsung Creative Lab program) is unveiling a portable, directional speaker set called S-Ray that aims to give you private listening without actually having to put anything in or over your ears. S-Ray does this with a combination of two small speakers dubbed Mini and Handy, along with the Neck Bend, a sci-fi kind of speaker device you wear around your neck. Each of the pieces in the collection is designed to use directional audio to play your music, movies or games without having to wear headphones and also without disturbing the people around you. The biggest problem with devices like this is they normally lack the bass oomph you’d find in the products they’re designed to replace, so here’s hoping Samsung managed to mitigate that with S-Ray because we’d love the ability to use something like this on a bicycle.
