If you’re like us, when you leave a Japanese restaurant, the sleeve your chopsticks came looks like shitty origami. Maybe it’s because we’re fidgety, but we can’t help but mess with that piece of paper. Turns out we’re not the only ones. Japanese Tip is an exhibition that includes over 8,000 chopstick wrappers left behind by guests at restaurants around Japan. The idea is that of Yuki Tatsumi, a waiter who noticed customers were playing with the bits of paper, who collected over 12,000 little creations. While the exhibition has closed, you can still see many of the sculptures on the Japanese Tip site. Then steal some inspiration for the next time you have sushi.
