Physical mail may seem like an outdated service, but it’s getting a modern makeover across the pond. The Royal Mail is testing a collection of fully electric mail vans in and around London. The nine trucks boast ranges of 100 miles on a single charge and are produced by Arrival, a company formally known as “Charge” that outfits vehicles for an autonomous racing competition. While adding less than 10 EVs to your fleet of 49,000 will do little to better the environment, it could signal a shift toward greener rides across the board for all mail services, which can’t be a bad thing. No word yet when Londoners can expect to see these vans on the streets.
