The Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet is the latest Maybach resurrection that’s also part AMG and is a v12-engined convertible Mercedes G-Class. In what may be the craziest Maybach or G-Class creation yet, Mercedes crammed a V12 biturbo with 630 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque into a vehicle that’s essentially a limo that you can (should!) take off-road whenever the need or desire arises. The driver and navigator are completely covered by a hard top roof while the rear passengers lap up the luxury of S-class seats with calf rests, massagers and full recline while being protected by the electronically folding fabric roof. But that’s not all. When you’re bombing around the Serengeti in the backseat you also have access to the business console with cooled or heated beverages, a comfortable writing surface and a glass partition that can be changed from transparent to opaque. It’s opulent. It’s fast as hell. It’s completely absurd. It’s damn near the top of the list of vehicles we want to ride around in this year.
