Based on the premise of “modern minimal carry,” the Refyne P1 combines a pen and a flashlight to create one essential piece of EDC gear. The bold, modular design is built with a grade 5 titanium body available in either a matte or polished finish. Deploying the pen from the under 5″ long body happens with a familiar bolt-action mechanism, and usability is improved in both the comfort and grip departments with thin grooves near the tip. The flashlight emitter is based on the CREE XP-2 and has both a low (9 lumen) and high (130 lumen) mode. The flashlight portion can be separated from the pen with an intuitive magnet and twist lock feature. The flashlight can also be used hands-free with a nearby metal surface and is recharged with a micro USB port hidden below the head. Two essential pieces gear in a package that’s shorter than a Sharpie.
