As part of adidas’ initiative to clean up ocean pollution, they’ve teamed up with nonprofit Parley for the Oceans to create a sneaker made from recycled ocean waste. The companies set up trash collection zones to collect waste plastic that is then turned into a material used to create 95% of the Primeknit upper. According to adidas, the shoelaces, heel webbing, heel cap and sock liner were also created from materials collected by Parley during coastal operations. Built with the same Boost technology that makes other adidas sneakers great, the adidas UltraBoost Uncaged Parley is a performance kick that isn’t short on style and also contains the material from 11 plastic bottles.
