Shelter Co. Supply’s new Meriwether Tent is all about destination camping. A group of friends setting up a tent village for a wedding. Rentals at music festivals. A weekend, or five, in the California wilderness. When you have a 16′ diameter, 9.5′ tall tent that will comfortably fit four to six adults, you can camp wherever you want. The tent is khaki-colored canvas with a sewn-in vinyl groundsheet available in khaki, burnt orange or slate grey. While it may be a large structure when assembled, it only weighs 65lbs including stakes and poles when it’s dry, so yes, it’s definitely portable. Then again, if you’ve got the space and sympathetic weather, you could set it up like another bedroom.
