Simon Stålenhag’s work is absolutely amazing. His retro-esque, sci-fi images depict a world somewhere between comic books, video games and actual reality. We talked about the dinosaurs, robots and futuristic landscapes before, but now they’re finally available in English, in hard cover print on premium grade art paper. The first book, Tales from The Loop, was originally released at the Swedish Book Fair in September 2014. It contained a full set of paintings from The Loop, a particle accelerator hidden beneath the Swedish countryside. The second book, Swedish Machines, Lonely Places, is currently in development with a late 2016 release planned. You can finally experience the homegrown sci-fi from Sweden that only Simon Stålenhag could produce in lavish art book form, instead of just on a computer screen.
