Control + Shift + Eject. Control + Shift + Power. If you’re a Mac user, these key combinations should be familiar because that’s how you lock your Mac when you need to step away for coffee, lunch, private calls, etc. Then, when you’re back, you have to enter your secure password. It’s a waste of time and productivity, but it’s also a pain in the ass. Sesame changes all of that. The small wireless device remotely locks and unlocks your Mac based on a proximity setting you set. It can automatically unlock your Mac when you’re in range or be used for two factor authentication. Since it works with Apple Script, it can also mute the volume, pause Spotify / iTunes and set you to “Away” when you leave your desk, which might be as cool as never having to type in your password again. The only downside is it won’t be available for Windows until later in 2015.
