The long-awaited Nissan Z sports car is on its way, and it should prove to be one of the most attractive and engaging rear-wheel drive, manual transmission cars on earth. Nissan partnered with Citizen watches to celebrate the all-new Z car’s launch with two beautiful titanium racing chronographs. Known as the Fairlady Z in Japan, the Nissan Z boasts beautiful analog gauges that are mimicked here. The two models have different dials: the reference AT8185-89E in “Ikazuchi Yellow” has a dial that mimics the Z’s perforated seat pattern while the reference AT8185-97E uses Nissan’s “Seiran Blue” accents with a dial inspired by asphalt tarmac from race tracks. Both watches have Citizen’s solar-powered Eco-Drive Cal. H804 movement that includes “Eco-Drive Radio Controlled” functionality that automatically adjusts to your time zone. There’s a world time bezel, an inner tachymeter bezel, as well as the “Fairlady Z” text below the day/date window. It’s a worthy timepiece for what should prove to be an amazing car. We can’t wait to try both.
