Accutron Astronaut “T” Limited Edition

Accutron Astronaut “T” Limited Edition

The Bulova Accutron Astronaut from the 1960s is historic. A little bit before the onset of the all-devouring quartz watch emerged, Bulova made a tuning fork-powered watch that maintained +/- 2-second per day accuracy, unheard of in the world of mechanical watches. It was even used by CIA pilots in the A-12 spy plane. The watch tech was soon eclipsed by the quartz watch, but the claim to fame stands. This new Accutron Astronaut reference 2SW8A002 pays homage to that timepiece.

Within the 41mm stainless steel case lies a Swiss Sellita automatic movement instead of the finicky Accutron tuning fork version. The watch also has an adjustable fourth hand for GMT duties along the 24-hour bezel, double-domed sapphire glass, Swiss Superluminova, 100 meters of water resistance, and a matching stainless steel bracelet with deployant clasp. The watch is limited to 300 pieces, and you can purchase directly from the Accutron website.
