Cocktail Chemistry is a fantastic site and YouTube channel where you can learn about everything from making a boulevardier to a snowglobe cocktail. For the newest series, Recreated, they’re tackling some of the iconic and hilarious cocktails from The Simpsons. Cocktails like the Flaming Homer. Going frame by frame to figure out all the identifiable bottles of liquor, they ended up with tequila, peppermint schnapps, creme de menthe and, obviously, cough syrup. It looks terrible. It tastes “god awful.” Most importantly, it doesn’t burst into flame when touched with a match. Next up is Skittlebrau, the “beer with candy floating it.” Skittles. Budweiser. Combine. We wouldn’t drink it, but apparently the beer actually leeches quite a bit of the candy flavor. Watching the crazy drinks get made is only part of it, because Cocktail Chemistry also introduces alternative versions of both of those drinks that look downright delicious.
